Mableton redevelopment powers referendum trails 52% to 48% in unofficial results
Unofficial Secretary of State results show No ahead by 1,137 votes across Mableton's 14 precincts. Countywide, the SPLOST renewal, which includes Mableton, shows Yes at 62.0%.

Mableton voters were rejecting the city's "Redevelopment Powers Law" referendum in unofficial results from Tuesday's election.
Georgia Secretary of State results as of 11:03 p.m. on Nov. 3 show No ahead with 14,933 votes (52.0%) and Yes at 13,796 (48.0%), out of 28,729 votes. The results page reports the referendum "Of 14 precincts." It also says the results are unofficial: they are not certified, and the counts can still change.
The ballot question asked: "Shall the Act be approved which authorizes the City of Mableton, Georgia, to exercise all redevelopment powers allowed under the 'Redevelopment Powers Law,' as it may be amended from time to time?"
Mableton's precincts
Cobb County's 2026 precinct list, revised April 28, 2026, names 14 Mableton precincts, Mableton 1A through Mableton 6B. That matches the 14 precincts the Secretary of State reports for the referendum. The list marks several precincts elsewhere in the county as new, including Lost Mountain 04 and Vinings 04. None of the Mableton precincts is marked new.
SPLOST renewal
Countywide, voters also decided whether to renew the special purpose local option sales tax. The ballot question would re-impose a 1 percent sales tax for up to six years to raise an estimated $1.15 billion. The money would be split between the county and seven cities, including Mableton. Unofficial countywide results show Yes with 204,842 votes (62.0%) and No with 125,788 (38.0%).
What is not yet known
These results are unofficial and can still change. On the Secretary of State's page, every contest shows "0 fully reported, 0 partially reported, 0 not reported," so the page does not show how much of the vote has been counted. This story covers only the 14 precincts named "Mableton." It has not checked whether some city residents vote in precincts with other names.
The county's consolidated sample ballot says it "contains all races" for the election, "including some contests that you may not be eligible to vote on." This story has not checked which county commission, school board, congressional or legislative districts each Mableton precinct falls in. Residents can look up their own ballot through the state's My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov.
The city's next step after the referendum result is not yet known.
